From The Webmistress

When I was young, I remember that our local newspaper used to run a column titled "Helpful Hints from Heloise". Heloise would write about how to get coffee stains out of the carpet, or an easy way to chop onions without tearing. As a young bride, I found the information wonderfuly helpful and interesting. But then I grew older. I must admit, I stopped reading that column years ago. Most of what she had to say I had heard already. Some of her hints I used regularly, others I ignored -- I had my own way of coping that I liked better than her solutions.
From time to time, I have been tempted to add a "Helpful Hints" section to our newsletter when there is space in this left-hand column. I'd like to use it to share little tips with you on using computers and the internet. I realize that our ownership comprises people with a wide range of internet skills and experience, so, like Heloise's of old, my Hints may or may not be useful to you. Also, if you have a Hint that you would like to share, click here to send it to me. Like Heloise, I will share it the next time I write a Hints column.
This month's first hint is a pointer to a great web site. At the bottom of our home page, there is a link: Condominium, Homeowner and Community Association Resources . Clicking on this link takes you to the home page of Regenesis.net - a non-profit association devoted to sharing resources among all sorts of condominium associations.
Features this month on the Regenesis web site include articles on screening contractors, specifying projects, resolutions and policies and a commentary on the Oregon Law on capital reserves.
They also have a tab that lists several videos that have been produced. These are of good quality, and introduce Association Owners to topics unique to this form of property ownership. Each of these videos, between 15 and 30 minutes long, reviews a subject important to Condominium owners. Our association has purchased a complete set of these videos. Mel Nunn has them available for owners to check out and watch.
Helpful Hint #1: Visit the Regenesis web site. There is a wealth of information there, including a list of the video titles.
Helpful Hint #2: Next time you are in Sunriver (this October?) stop by Mel's office and borrow a video. Learn more about Association Membership - your rights and responsibilities.
