Roof Material
Ballot Status

I would like to be able to use this newsletter to give you the results of the ballot to choose our roof material. However, not quite all of the owners' ballots have arrived yet, so all I can do is to exhort you - if you have not yet returned your ballot, please do so.

This week, Deanna or a member of the calling committee will contact each owner whose ballot has not arrived. We want 100% participation in this ballot process if at all possible.

As I mentioned last letter, this decision is only the first of many steps. Our plans must be approved by the SROA Design Committee, and the board must craft a method to pay for the project, since the available reserves are not adequate. We expect to complete this task at our spring board meeting. I expect that this process will involve considerable discussion among the board members.

The board comprises a truly representative cross section of the ownership; we are both Phase II and Phase III owners, some are eager to upgrade the property as quickly as possible, others more concerned with maintaining our units as economically as possible.

The best news is that our Board president, Rod Englert, is a truly effective chairperson. His leadership demonstrates that he is committed to running a board where all opinions are heard, and to arriving at a consensus-based decision that addresses all owners' concerns. I would ask that you trust us, under Rod's guidance, to arrive at a good solution at this juncture.

Of course, as soon as we have more information to share with the ownership we will do so.
