Come to the Annual Meeting in October
Big reminder: Don’t forget that our Annual Meeting is scheduled for October 21st, this year. This will be an important meeting. If you can spare the time in your schedules to be there, it would be wonderful to see you in person. Prior to last year only a few owners, other than board members, attended meetings. Then, last year we had a wonderful turnout – there were easily 25 people attending. Of course that included owners and spouses, but – hey – the more the merrier. Last year I met neighbors, visited, shared my concerns and listened to others’ viewpoints. It was the beginning of a community. With the internet to help us keep our ties alive, even over distance and time, there is no reason that we can’t build on this beginning at the next Annual Meeting. I look forward to it, and I really hope to see you there.
Within the next few weeks Mel will be mailing out the information packet for the meeting. If you have an Agenda item that you would like to see included (whether or not you are able to attend), please contact Mel Nunn or Ray Cook so that we can get the item added to the agenda.
If you have skills that you are willing to devote to our board and would like to be considered for board membership, please submit your biographical information to Mel. That will allow him to include your information with those of other board candidates when he mails out the information packet. There are four open board positions this year. We can use your help. Also, Ray would like to use the internet for more and more board business. That means that even owners who do not live within easy commuting distance of Sunriver can participate in board discussions, and contribute to board decisions.
The list of members willing to share their e-mail addresses with us is approaching 2/3 of the total ownership. Every month when I publish the web newsletter for the month, I write a very short e-mail announcing it to each address that I have in my address book. If you are not included and would like to be, write me an e-mail (click here to bring up an e-mail window) and ask to be included in the address list (I do not share this address list).
This past year has been a wonderful one for Wildflower II. Every few months I have been able to publish a glowing report of things tidied up, clean-up, repaired, or refurbished. The Phase II step-replacement project was completed. Altogether this list of accomplishments represents absolutely wonderfully cost-effective spending of our maintenance dollars. Our properties look cared-for nowadays. It really allows us to put our best foot forward.
At our last annual meeting we discussed our Capital Reserve Fund. We asked for a review of our accounts; we asked that a formal Capital Reserve Plan be published. The results of these studies are scheduled to be reviewed at this next meeting.
Now that the many smaller restoration tasks( and one medium-sized one, the Phase III steps) have been accomplished, we are faced with prioritizing, scheduling and funding the remaining large tasks – primarily our need for new roofs. Our October meeting will be our opportunity to discuss the best way to go about this, with as many owners as possible in attendance. It really is an important meeting for you to attend in person, if
possible. For those unable to attend, now is a good time for you to consider to
whom to delegate your proxy vote, so that your wishes can best be represented.
Make your plans to join us. I hope to see you there.
