The Deschutes in Fall

the Wildflower II Association Board met at Momeni's Sunriver Home, September 27, 2008. The minutes of that meeting have been reviewed by the board and accepted for posting in this newsletter. Click here to read them.

In the minutes you will read that two Board positions are open for re-election at this Fall's Owners' meeting. One Board member, Richard Bennett, is retiring, another, Bob Raths, has agreed to be renominated for an additional term. If any among you have interest in serving on the Association Board in the upcoming year, please make your willingness to serve known to Joanna Johns, the Association Manager, or to Gary Lorenz, who has agreed to act as the nominating committeeperson.

Firewood storage at our units has traditionally been on or near the front entry to each unit. This has the potential to attract carpenter ants to the vicinity of the front door. Some owners have installed wood storage racks that lift the wood off of the porch to deter these pests.

Recently Mike Smith, the Owner Relations Manager at Sunriver Resort, has offered install wood racks and barbeque trays for those owners who want to purchase them. Joanna Johns, working with Mike, is able to extend the bulk-pricing that the Resort enjoys to any Wildflower II owner who would like to take advantage of this offer, regardless of whether they use the Resort as a rental property manager.

Here is an excerpt from Mike's e-mail to Joanna.

In further correspondence, Mike added that ..."The cost for the rack is $89.95, includes leveling, assemble and restacking the wood. Restacking is based on 45 minutes and would be charged at $10 every 15 minutes extra if needed. The phase 3 units may need a smaller rack. The deck tray is roughly $19.95 and needs no special installation. We are willing to pass on the special price to include any condos not managed by SRLP but would need to charge the association unless pre ordered and pre paid prior to delivery. "

If you are interested in participating in this bulk purchase, plase contact Joanna.

During the summer months it was discovered that outdoor furniture was being stored on the flat roof of a unit. This practice will tear the membrane and result in damage to the flat roof. Nothing should be placed on the flat roofs. Your awareness and cooperation are very much appreciated as these roofs have been a source of constant leaking in the past and as we abate these leaks with replacement roofs we want to do everything possible to prevent future leaking. It would be a good idea to discuss this with your rental agent, security checkers, visiting family and friends so they are aware of this guideline.
