The Wildflower II Association Board met at Momeni's West Linn Home, January 30, 2009. The minutes of that meeting have been reviewed by the board and accepted for posting in this newsletter. Click here to read them.

One safety issue that arose during the board meeting was Joanna's discovery that some of the exterior porch light housings, particularly on the Phase III units, had become charred on the inside. This resulted when ordinary incandescent light bulbs were installed in the fixtures, which were designed for use only with very low wattage bulbs. The heat generated by 60 Watt (or greater) bulbs presents a fire hazard to the fixture and thus to the building itself. The Association plans to modify the fixtures to eliminate the fire hazard, but meantime, please use only fluorescent bulbs or incandescent bulbs of 25W or less in these wooden fixtures.

Prior to the board meeting, Gary Lorenz attended an SROA-sponsored forum that reviewed the state of SROA-owned swimming pools in Sunriver. It is a short subject: the pools bring considerable revenue in to SROA, they are an amenity that is prized by rental agencies, but they have deteriorated and are obsolete. Gary introduced copies of a very nice report of alternative solutions and their costs, and suggested that all Sunriver Owners participate in choosing how best to deal with the situation. I was unable to find on SROA's website a copy of the handout that Gary had, so I made a copy available here. There is a copy of another presentation of the Aquatics Study on SROA's Amenities page, as well as a calendar of other owner forums to be given in major cities on SROA's home page.

SROA has recently redesigned their web page to give Sunriver owners access to their departments' documents. Access depends upon creating a userid and password for SROA's website. Sign up instructions are listed on SROA's website under the Online Office Tab. They are fairly straightforward, although co-owners may need to contact their office for further instructions. Using the SROA website to keep abreast of Sunriver news is useful, whether or not one chooses to register with a userid and password so as also to see the privileged documents. Especially for those who visit Sunriver infrequently, I recommend it.
